The Memorial Championship returns to sunny Arizona this February as the event expands to include its largest field ever. The popular PDGA “A-tier” tournament is once again being fully supported by the top disc golf pro shop in the west….Spinners on the Green in Scottsdale. The usual suspects Vista Del Camino DGC and Fountain Hills DGC will be featured again this year but in mid-December, organizers chose to add a third course to the mix – the popular and picturesque Fiesta Lakes disc golf course in the city of Mesa.
Last year, perennial contender Paul McBeth took the Open Men’s title one year after dazzling the disc golf world with a remarkable -17 round that is still the highest-rated disc golf round of all time (1132). Page Pierce cruised to a win in the Open Women’s division in 2014 while “The Champ” Ken Climo shot a -27 to earn the Masters victory. With typically mild Arizona winter weather expected, this year’s Memorial Championship promises to be one you won’t want to miss!
